It Began in 2001....
Prior to 2001, Carey and Madeline Metts had been sponsoring a little girl in El Salvador through Compassion International.
A devastating earthquake in January of 2001 left the Metts with no way to find out if their Compassion child and her family were safe.
The Metts changed their vacation plans and traveled to El Salvador in April.
The home of their sponsored child had been destroyed, but she and her family with Compassion were unharmed!
"The greatest need in El Salvador," a local pastor shared with them, was a home to care for orphaned and abandoned children.
The Metts' church in the United States had sent them on this trip with $1,000. With that money in their pockets, Casa de Amor was born.
